Our vision
Our Daily Bread empowers Ukrainian churches and organizations to support people in vulnerable situations. We partner with them because they are reliable and understand people’s needs. They listen carefully and give good advice. And they work to strengthen the social fabric of the communities they serve.
Like farmers, they water the soil of their communities with our Drops of Hope projects. These drops fill the cracks in the soil with moisture. They help the little plants grow their roots deeper. The little plants are the people they help and develop relationships with. Growing deeper roots means taking responsibility, moving forward, and learning to give and not just take. In other words, developing a healthy mindset.
When those little plants mature, they will bear fruit. These people will help their communities to flourish.
How we work
In Ukraine, the most important thing you can do is spend time with people and listen to them. Listen carefully to their stories, appreciate their perspectives, laugh at good jokes, and share a meal together. This practical compassion forms the foundation of strong and trusted relationships. Without these relationships, you can achieve nothing of lasting worth in Ukraine. Great ideas or superb programs won’t take you far—it’s about the Ukrainians you work with, seeing and experiencing that you genuinely care for them. Then they’ll invite you to come alongside them, work with them to realize what they truly need, dare to ask you awkward questions, and be genuinely open with you. And if you remain humble and keep listening, they’ll recommend you to others, and your network will grow.
We have worked in this way since Our Daily Bread was founded in May 2020, beginning with one small project in Bakhmut for a pastor with a large network. Sadly, Bakhmut no longer exists, but the seed of hope we planted there continues to grow.

Share your drops of hope
Our Daily Bread’s Drops of Hope approach evolved from how we work. We make small, smart investments – our “drops” – in projects that spark hope, bring people together and yield lasting change. These projects miss out on funding from other organisations because they are viewed as “hidden costs” or “too small to worry about”, or simply “not attractive enough”.
