Where hope took root

In 2020, a small rehab center in Bakhmut needed help. Alcoholics and addicts were finding their way back to life. But the building was crumbling, and the center struggled to survive. Our Daily Bread’s first investment renovated the space and helped the center create sustainable income.

When war came

February 2022 brought the full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Our partners delivered food and medicine and pulled people from danger. Over 1,300 people evacuated. Hundreds more received humanitarian aid.

Small drops, deep impact

By mid-2022, a pattern emerged: the most effective help came in small, steady Drops of Hope – grassroots projects with low investment but deep impact. Seed projects helped over 300 households grow food. Chickens provided income for 35+ families in the Donbas. A youth group and women’s club flourished in frontline Lyman until danger forced them to stop. Communities shifted from dependence to self-sufficiency.

Roots spreading

Throughout 2024, partnerships expanded beyond Eastern Ukraine and two projects launched:

Home Front equips military chaplains to provide the spiritual, moral, and emotional care soldiers need to stay human.

Future4Kids trains caregivers in churches, schools, and day centers to help war-traumatized children heal.

What have we accomplished since 2020?

Here are a few of our accomplishments:

– Support of rehab center for drug and alcohol addicts in Bakhmut (now sadly destroyed)

– Construction community center in Sumy

– Over 1300 people evacuated from the Donetsk and Luhansk regions

– Several hundred people received humanitarian aid in the first months of 2022

– Over 400 households received seeds to grow their own vegetables

– Over 35 households received chickens to earn a small income

– 18 adults trained in how to support war-traumatised kids

– 2 military chaplains supported in their work with soldiers

The network grows through the simple power of showing up, investing wisely, and trusting Ukrainians to lead their own transformation.
