Children Mission is a Ukrainian organization that equips adults to work with children and care for traumatized kids. Through structured training courses, webinars, and workshops, they help teachers, volunteers, and churches to create safe spaces and activities that enable children to grow.
Well-developed training system
Two Children Mission trainers took part in our Jacaranda training in August 2025. That led to positive discussions with Children Mission’s director, Lyudmila Bryn. These discussions revealed that Children Mission already has a well-developed training system, competent trainers, and a large network. We realized that working with Children Mission was closer to our ideal of empowering local churches and organizations. Therefore, we decided to continue our program with Lyudmila and her team, putting Ukrainian leadership at the center where it belongs.
Emotional support camps
Children Mission is now using the Jacaranda experience to develop its own training module on running emotional support camps, adapted to the Ukrainian context. A team of their trainers are now meeting regularly to develop the module. Later, they plan to design a webinar on incorporating emotional safety into children’s camps in general, as this is often a neglected aspect in Ukraine.
Jacaranda trainer Tim Friesen will serve as an advisor during the development of the training module to ensure the Jacaranda expertise and experience are effectively passed on to his Ukrainian counterparts. Our Daily Bread will play a facilitative role by helping Children Mission develop a strong website to better promote their courses and attract more funding, and by supporting the roll-out of the training and camps.
Triple chord
With the triple chord of Children Mission, Jacaranda Communities of Hope, and Our Daily Bread, we can enable more traumatized kids to gain the emotional support they need and move forward in life.
